// Improving Functional Oral Intake in Head and Neck Cancer Survivors with Chronic Radiation-Associated Dysphagia - The Multicenter Randomized Controlled HIT-CRAD Trial

// This randomized controlled trial compared home-based strength training, combined strength-skill training, and combined training with real or sham HD-tDCS in head and neck cancer patients with chronic radiation-associated dysphagia. All groups improved in oral intake, swallowing function, and muscle strength after 8 weeks, but combined strength and skill training led to significantly better oral intake outcomes than strength training alone. The addition of HD-tDCS showed no extra benefit. Thus, combined strength and skill training is the most effective treatment for improving dysphagia in these patients.
