// This study provides the first neural evidence that French-learning infants aged 7 to 14 months perceptually repair illegal phonotactic sequences. Using an ERP habituation-dishabituation paradigm focusing on the */tl/>/kl/ repair, researchers found age and brain response patterns influenced the repair effect. Infants showing positive ERP amplitudes demonstrated repair regardless of age, while those with negative amplitudes showed repair only by 14 months. The results reveal that early neural phonotactic development varies with individual maturation and age.
