// Is vocal emotional processing fine-tuned to speaker gender, identity and phonetic content? - Evidence from simultaneous opposite adaptation
// This study investigated how vocal emotion adaptation is influenced by stable speaker traits like gender and identity versus dynamic phonetic content. Using experiments inducing opposite aftereffects along a fear-anger continuum, they found clear adaptation effects linked to speaker gender and some evidence for speaker identity, but not phonetic content. Results indicate vocal emotion adaptation is partly fine-tuned to stable speaker features rather than dynamic speech cues. This supports the view that understanding vocal emotion perception requires considering the speaker's characteristics.
