// Comparing Traditional Motor Speech Practice to Contextualized Speech Practice in Preschoolers With Childhood Apraxia of Speech
// This study compared retention of speech targets in preschoolers with childhood apraxia of speech using contextualized versus motor-only practice within modified integral stimulation therapy. Three children underwent both practice types in randomized sessions, with improvements measured by percent phonemes correct (PPC) and lexical stress accuracy. Significant posttreatment gains in PPC were found mainly in the contextualized condition, with limited improvements in the motor-only condition and no meaningful changes in lexical stress. The findings suggest that incorporating linguistic elements into integral stimulation therapy may enhance target retention in some children with CAS.
