// This study reviewed records of 40 children with primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) to assess hearing loss and related ear issues. Sixty-five percent had hearing loss, and most underwent multiple tympanostomy tube placements, often complicated by prolonged ear infections. Many with hearing loss needed speech therapy and educational support, and hearing worsened after tube removal. The study suggests hearing amplification might be a better long-term option than tubes for managing PCD-related hearing difficulties.
