// This study compared stroke survivors with aphasia (SSwAs) rehabilitation priorities to those of federally funded aphasia clinical trials in the U.S. Using a literature review and trial outcome analysis, it found SSwAs focus on function-based goals while most trials emphasize impairment-based measures. There is a clear mismatch between patient priorities and the current highest-level evidence in trials. Including end-users in trial design could better align research with patient-centered rehabilitation needs.
