// This study validated the European French version of the Intelligibility in Context Scale (ICS-EF), a parent-report tool assessing speech intelligibility in preschool children. Researchers tested 189 French-speaking children, including those at risk for speech sound disorders (SSDs), using standardized speech assessments and ICS-EF questionnaires. The ICS-EF showed good reliability, validity, and age-related sensitivity, with intelligibility ratings affected by communication partner familiarity and SSD presence. The findings support ICS-EF as a reliable screening and functional impact tool for SSDs in French-speaking preschoolers.
