// Engaging Children in Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Development: Utilizing an Interactive iPad Tool to Capture Picture-Based P300-Based BCI Augmentative and Alternative Communication Design Preferences
// This study explored design preferences for P300-BCI-AAC interfaces among typically developing children aged 8-12 by having them create personalized picture-based displays and explain their choices. Children favored features enhancing visual distinction, such as colors, animations (especially zooming), sound cues, and personal relevance through overlays and GIFs. The results highlight the importance of motion, color, personalization, and clarity for pediatric BCI-AAC design. These findings inform future customizable, engaging interfaces and call for further research involving children who use AAC and those with motor impairments.
