// This study examined phonological awareness and literacy deficits in Cantonese-speaking adults with congenital amusia, considering dyslexia traits. Using phonological, literacy, and auditory perception tasks, the amusia group showed impairments in all phonological tasks and word reading, with 38% exhibiting dyslexia traits. Those with pure amusia had specific difficulties in high-memory-load segmental and suprasegmental tasks linked to pitch perception, while broader deficits were related to comorbid dyslexia. The findings emphasize the need to account for dyslexia traits when studying amusia-related impairments.
