// This study compared survival and neurodevelopmental outcomes at 24 months' corrected age between expectant management and early ibuprofen treatment in extremely preterm infants with PDA. In a randomized trial with 234 infants, no difference was found in survival without neurodevelopmental impairment between the two groups. Additional outcomes like growth, neurological exam, and sensory impairments were also similar. The findings suggest early ibuprofen treatment offers no advantage over expectant management for these infants' survival and neurodevelopment.
