// This study evaluated music perception in adults with single-sided deafness (SSD) compared to normal-hearing listeners under binaural and simulated monaural conditions using behavioral tests and subjective ratings. SSD participants showed significantly poorer performance in pitch discrimination, melody recognition, and temporal resolution than both normal-hearing groups, indicating deficits beyond acute monaural listening effects. Subjective reports from SSD individuals revealed reduced music enjoyment and increased listening effort. The findings emphasize the crucial role of binaural hearing in music perception and highlight complex auditory challenges in SSD.
