// Adjunctive pillar suturing or pharyngoplasty in pediatric adenotonsillectomy for obstructive sleep apnea: A systematic review and meta-analysis

// This study evaluated whether adding pillar suturing or pharyngoplasty to tonsillectomy improves outcomes in children with obstructive sleep apnea. A meta-analysis of 11 studies found no significant differences in key sleep parameters, surgical success, or complications when these adjunctive procedures were used. The results suggest no consistent additional benefit from these techniques beyond tonsillectomy alone. Therefore, routine use of adjunctive pharyngeal suturing is not supported, highlighting the need for personalized surgical decisions.
