// This study used a novel computational method and fNIRS neuroimaging to examine bilingual children's brain responses to word predictability in Spanish, their heritage language. Results showed that children successfully tracked linguistic predictions, indicating rich language representations in Spanish. Some trends suggested comprehension abilities might influence neural tracking, but these were not statistically strong. The study demonstrates the feasibility and usefulness of this approach for investigating language development in bilingual children.
