// This study validated a new Arabic speech-in-noise test (ACINT) and examined whether the personality trait conscientiousness affects performance. ACINT was administered twice to 54 normal-hearing and 20 mild sensorineural hearing-loss participants, with normal-hearing participants grouped by conscientiousness using the Arabic NEO-FFI. The test was repeatable (>77% of data within one SD on Bland–Altman) and reliably distinguished NH from HI, with HI participants requiring 4.14 dB higher SNR (p < 0.001); conscientiousness had no significant effect (p = 0.14). The authors conclude ACINT is a valid, repeatable SiN test for audiological research and conscientiousness is not associated with improved auditory test performance.
