// This article demonstrates applying the CVI/AAC Framework to design an aided AAC system for a young child with cerebral palsy and cortical visual impairment. Over 8 months and 13 team meetings the authors iteratively assessed and coded 97 discussion topics from transcripts and notes, finding most discussion focused on the child's individual characteristics (Domain 1) and AAC system design (Domain 3), with documented changes in the child's linguistic and visual functioning and in the AAC system. They conclude the framework is a practical complement to usual AAC assessment that prompts individualized, visually accessible AAC changes and supports future research.
