// This study evaluated whether pressure dressings after otologic surgery improve postoperative outcomes. A systematic review and meta-analysis of 11 studies (1,358 operated ears) compared pressure dressing versus no pressure dressing using pooled odds ratios. Pressure dressings did not reduce hematoma/seroma but significantly increased minor complications (skin erythema, auricular bruising, and dress-related headache). The authors conclude routine pressure dressing is likely unnecessary when adequate hemostasis is achieved.
