// Neural origins of the acoustic change complex auditory evoked potential: Topographical maps and source localization in the auditory cortex
// The study aimed to map the acoustic change complex (ACC) across the scalp and localize its neural generators using high-density EEG. Eighteen normal-hearing adults were recorded with 128-channel EEG during a 1 kHz tone containing a 10% frequency change, and sources were estimated with MNE-Python using LCMV beamforming. The ACC produced classic P1–N1–P2 waveforms and scalp topographies resembling sound-onset responses. Source localization showed bilateral N1 peaks in auditory cortex, indicating the ACC arises bilaterally in auditory cortex and likely shares generators with the onset response.
