// Learning Curve and Evaluation of Robotic Assistance for Cochlear Implant Electrode Insertion
// This prospective cohort study of 60 consecutive robotic-assisted cochlear implant insertions by three surgeons evaluated the learning curve after structured training using time metrics and SURG-TLX, analyzed with sequential grouping, CUSUM, and exponential decay modeling. Robot usage and preparation times fell significantly (robot use 19.1 → 15.0 min; prep 12.5 → 9.2 min), with a nonlinear exponential learning pattern reaching an asymptote of ~16.3 min and group-level stabilization by 20–30 cases. Insertion and total operation times were unchanged, situational stress decreased, and overall efficiency improved rapidly, supporting safe adoption with structured training and protocolized workflows.
