// The study evaluated test-retest reliability and responsiveness of the 15- and 5-item Empowerment in Audiology Questionnaire (EmpAQ) using repeated measures 3–4 weeks apart (Study A) and assessments before and 3 and 6 months after hearing-aid fitting (Study B). Both forms showed moderate test–retest reliability (ICC 0.72–0.74), comparable to the RHHI-S (ICC 0.77). They were responsive to hearing-aid fitting, with significant mean increases at 3 months (~+9–11; SRM ≈0.5), 21–23% of participants exceeding MDC95, and gains maintained at 6 months. Thus, EmpAQ-15 and EmpAQ-5 are reliable, responsive measures that capture empowerment changes and complement traditional audiological outcome tools.
