// Language Sample Analysis Practices in a Multilingual and Diglossic Context: A Survey of Speech-Language Pathologists in German-Speaking Switzerland
// This study surveyed how often and how speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in German-speaking Switzerland use language sample analysis (LSA), including target groups and analytic methods in a diglossic context. A questionnaire was sent to 550 SLPs and responses were summarized with descriptive statistics. Findings show LSA is more widely used than in English-speaking countries, but SLPs mainly use individualized, nonstandardized approaches, focus on younger children and microstructural measures (morphology-syntax), and rarely use assistive tools. The authors recommend standardizing LSA procedures and developing structured tools to broaden analyses and better support practice and research in diglossic and multilingual contexts.
