// The study aimed to identify and prioritise research needs for people with developmental language disorder (DLD) using a bottom-up, consumer-driven approach. Using Q methodology, 82 stakeholders developed a Q-set which was refined by a consumer advisory group and then nationally Q-sorted (n=35) with results analysed for lived-experience and professional groups. Two priority viewpoints emerged—"environmental support and enabling participation" and "building the evidence base"—indicating stakeholders want research on creating supportive communicative environments and improving diagnosis and interventions.
